In reply to <a href="https://kimberlyjoyauthor.com/roadblocks-writers-block-and-missing-socks/#comment-383">Janet Lucas</a>.

Janet, your story reminds me of a time in our lives several years ago. We lived in a small town in Kansas and all our kids had married and moved away. I was so ready to sell our house and move. We put it on the market in the fall, but with no luck. So the next summer we changed agents, still no buyers. At the end of the summer, our agent suggested we make some upgrades to the house. So we did. I was so discouraged. I wanted to get closer to our kids. And it just seemed like nothing was happening. The next May a young Real Estate Agent who had just finished her training stopped by our house and asked if we knew anyone who wanted to sell. We said, Yes we did. She was so enthusiastic. She helped us stage the house and get it ready to show. She put it on the market on Thursday. At the Open House on Sunday we had a contract. Later, we could see that it was God's perfect timing. Everything fell into place and we were able to move closer to our daughter. Maybe your buyers aren't ready yet!

You're welcome, Barb. I love that--Dinosaurs in the Bathtub! :-) We often have seasons of life that are overwhelming, but God's grace is always sufficient!

Wow, you are facing some pretty big roadblocks! But you are right--all in God's timing. I know that I'm tempted to run ahead of God so many times, but then I look back and see His timing was perfect all along! :-)

I could identify with this! Years ago, when my family (and I) was young, I wrote in my journal something I titled, Dinosaurs in the Bathtub. It was basically the same thing as what I just read in your article. The dinosaurs in my life were so overwhelming... I still have times like that now, but they are not dinosaurs anymore...they are the signs of getting older. The annoying pains, the slowing down and unsteadiness, but I still need to "get the job done". My head and heart say, "Sure, I can do that" but my body says, Nope, Are you kidding me? Discerning what it is that God wants of me at this time in my life is key. Thank you for the reminder.

I really like this Kim! I want to be done fixing up this house so we can sell so bad but I need my husband's help with some projects.But... we are having car/truck troubles again! Some weeks all the vehicles are down and he gets one limping along so I can get to work. He gets frustrated thinking...I could be working on the house instead of these old vehicles. I remind him (and myself too), it's all in God's timing. We will sell when He thinks it's the right time. We just keep working on vehicles and doing house projects as we are able and when we are ready to sell, it will be at the right time. Oh....plowing and shoveling snow have been on the list lately...another 5-8 inches on it's way tonight!
